Overview

Saudi Aramco is seeking a Gas Storage Specialist to work with the Gas Storage Division of the Gas Strategy and Technical Support Department under the Gas Development Admin Department arm of Petroleum Engineering & Development Admin Area.

As a Gas Storage Specialist, you will be responsible of managing underground gas storage reservoirs. You will evaluate the underground storage reservoir performance and field inventory calculations through applying reservoir engineering techniques and skillset. You will assess wells' deliverability and seek out ways to maintain and improve them. Moreover, you will devise plans utilizing historical, surveillance and real-time data to monitor and assess the integrity of the storage wells and reservoir. You will also liaise effectively with different stakeholders to maintain high operational excellence. You should also have the expertise to prepare detailed project scope documents for expansion and/or development of Underground Gas Storage assets with capability to conduct project costs estimations. Last but no least, you should have the mentoring capacity to develop and train young professionals and participate in the company engineering standards, procedures & guidelines reviews.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform management of underground gas storage fields.

• Provide the use of reservoir engineering techniques and skills to verify field inventory using field pressure data with methods such as material balance and reservoir simulation.

• Analyze results of the simulations and recommend optimum operating conditions.

• Maintain or improves well deliverability using production engineering techniques and skills.

• Perform field and well tests to quantify well performance and reservoir characteristics.

• Provide technical support for drilling and completions engineering tasks to manage the drilling of new wells.

• Monitor Underground Storage assets conditions through the use of surveillance and real-time measurements, as well as through regular conversation with Operations' field employees.

• Analyze field and well meter data, both current conditions and historical conditions, to ensure that fields are meeting expected performance.

• Provide liaison services between different company stakeholders to ensure Underground Storage assets maintain high Operational Excellence.

• Prepare detailed project scope documents for expansion and/or development of Underground Gas Storage assets.

• Estimate project costs and perform cost benefit analyses to determine optimal use of company resources.

• Able to look at cost optimizations, perform economic analysis and identify the most cost-effective alternative.

• Assess potential underground reservoirs and salt domes / beds for Underground Storage development and perform benchmarking with regional and world underground assets.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor of science in engineering from an accredited university, MSc or PhD is desirable, but not required. MSc or PhD is desirable, but not required.

• Minimum of 15 years of experience petroleum engineering organization with a minimum of 7 years in in underground gas storage related work

• You should have:

o Knowledge of oil and natural gas gathering/processing/transmission/storage operations.

o Knowledge of design and construction of gathering/processing/transmission/storage assets.

o Knowledge of industry standards for safe, reliable and the cost-effective operation and maintenance of engineered systems and works requiring engineering supervision.

o Knowledge of production engineering, reservoir engineering and downhole well completions best practices.

o Ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing.

o Ability to motivate self, accomplish tasks and achieve goals.

o Ability to identify solutions to problems with creativity and innovative thinking.

o Ability to distill data and analysis into high-level reports and summaries.

o Ability to demonstrate effective project management and time management to meet project deadlines.

o Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.

o Ability to make sound decisions based on engineering and mathematical principles.

o Ability to work independently

o Ability to work within stringent deadlines.
