Overview

We are seeking a Joint Venture & Affiliate Analyst to join the Digital Transformation (DT) group.

DT is responsible for creating new digital business opportunities for the Company while also contributing to the Kingdom's economic growth. Our successes have focused on the development of Mega Projects in Refining and Petrochemicals and we continue pursuing initiatives seeking more ambitious contributions to the Kingdom's economic development which will also enhance and expand the Company's operations and value chain. The position will be based in Digital Strategy, Investment & Growth department.

Joint Venture & Affiliate Analyst is the focal point of contact between Saudi Aramco and the Digital Affiliates. The primary responsibility of the JV & Affiliate Analyst is to oversee financial performance of the affiliates, issue periodic reports to Aramco management, monitor affiliates' corporate governance, provide board support, review shareholder agreement, and to advise the affiliates on strategic issues.

The incumbent should possess significant experience within the relevant industries to be considered a subject matter expert. You should have strong interpersonal skills with gravitas to work with people to collaborate effectively and efficiently across internal and external stakeholders that allows robust communication protocol to execute and realize the opportunity. You should bring strong financial analytical skills with a successful track record of investment and portfolio management. Also, you must be willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia and travel as required for business needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

 

  • Act as the focal point of contact between Digital Affiliates and Saudi Aramco internal stakeholders
  • Proactively identify opportunities for performance improvement, develop associated business cases, and negotiate with Affiliates to adopt.
  • Evaluate, summarize, and make recommendations on Board agenda items, including Business Plans, Operating Plans, and Capital programs
  • Work with Saudi Aramco's Board to develop and update the company's strategy for given affiliates, assessing continued strategic fit within in the Digital portfolio, and catalyze restructuring as needed
  • Conduct analysis on Affiliates, prepare materials for internal approvals (e.g. capital investment, equity injection, cash call etc.)
  • Administer and conduct reviews of shareholder agreements to ensure compliance with obligations
  • Prepare quarterly, annual, and other reports as required by Government Agencies and Saudi Aramco management.
  • Oversee the document management process by ensuring that Affiliates' financial data and files are accurately tracked, recorded, and maintained in accordance with data sensitivity protocols.
  • Manage ongoing operational and financial performance reporting, including internal metrics / tracking and investor-level reporting.
  • Help develop the corporate strategy and business plan for JVs and subsidiaries
  • Provide necessary training and support to junior members and internal assignments, as needed.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

 

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Economics; MBA or relevant advanced degree strongly preferred along with relevant professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, and/or PMP.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably in the petroleum industry with deep understanding of digital investments, portfolio, and joint-venture management.
  • Excellent understanding of planning, economics, and financial control (Opex, Capex, ROI, NPV calculation, business case development, etc.) to review Affiliates' Business plan and evaluate the financial performance.
  • Expertise in navigating and influencing complex internal stakeholder groups to ensure successful business outcomes.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision on relatively unstructured tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to produce quality written and oral reports and presentations in English.
  • Proficient in the use of analytical, word processing, and presentation software.
