Join us and help shape the future of IT.Role Overview The F5 Resident Engineer will be embedded within the client's cybersecurity team to enhance and manage F5 Advanced Web Application Firewall (AWAF)policies across the enterprise infrastructure. The role involves optimizing the organization's application security posture, fine-tuning configurations, integrating F5 systems with SIEM platforms, and providing continuous monitoring and policy optimization for web applications and APIs.Key Responsibilities Implementation & Configuration Install and configure F5 Viprion blades for performance enhancement.Create, manage, and optimize AWAF security policies for multiple business applications and digital platforms.Security Policy Development Implement and maintain AWAF functions and protections including: Evasion techniques and Allowed HTTP Methods Attack Signatures (Medium/High Accuracy)Header length and Cookie compliance enforcement Malformed XML/JSON data handling IP Reputation and Geolocation enforcement File Type, Length, and Extension enforcement Modified ASM Cookies and User Session Tracking Session Hijacking Protection and Disallowed URLs Monitoring & Integration Fine-tune AWAF logging configurations and ensure seamless integration with SIEM systems (e.g., Splunk).Continuously review, optimize, and enforce security policies based on live traffic analysis and learning mode insights.Test and validate ASM/AWAF functionality and generate periodic operational and security reports.Compliance & Governance Ensure web application security configurations align with internal information security standards and regulatory requirements.Participate in regular security assessments, risk reviews, and configuration audits.Maintain accurate documentation for all configuration, tuning, and incident activities.Knowledge Transfer & Collaboration Conduct training and handover sessions to internal security and network teams.Collaborate closely with application, SOC, and infrastructure teams to maintain optimal security posture.Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.5+ years of experience with F5 technologies, including AWAF/ASM and BIG-IP platforms.Proven hands-on expertise in application security, Layer 7 traffic inspection, and SIEM integrations (preferably Splunk).Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 , WAF tuning, and SSL/TLS security.Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or i Rules) is an advantage.F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-CTS: ASM/AWAF) or F5 Certified Solution Expert (F5-CSE) preferred.Soft Skills Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.High attention to detail and a proactive security mindset.Ability to work independently within customer environments under minimal supervision Equal Opportunity Statement At Acuative, we believe our strength comes from our people—and that includes people from all backgrounds.
