Network Administrator – VMware

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator with strong hands-on expertise in Linux environments and virtualization technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing the organization's network and server infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance across all systems.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Linux-based servers and systems.

Manage and maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, or Proxmox.

Monitor and ensure network performance, availability, and security across all infrastructure components.

Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, and access controls to safeguard network resources.

Hands-on experience with firewalls such as Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or pf Sense.

Manage and configure Layer 3 switches and other core network devices.

Deploy and manage security cameras and related network systems.

Perform regular system updates, backups, and patch management.

Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching issues.

Ensure compliance with IT security policies and best practices.

Provide technical support, documentation, and training for internal teams.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new network solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

4–5 years of proven experience in network and system administration.

Strong expertise in Linux administration (Cent OS, Ubuntu, Red Hat, or similar).

Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, KVM, Proxmox, etc.).

Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, etc.).

Proficient in managing firewalls, routers, switches, and network monitoring tools.

Familiarity with scripting (Bash, Python, or Power Shell) is a plus.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is an advantage.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.
