Armaments Senior Supervisor
Description
The Weapons senior supervisor is responsibleto the rectification controller and should be an experienced and skilledarmament technician undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities onthe Typhoon aircraft or aircraft components.They will be responsible for maintaining airworthiness throughappropriate task delegation andauthorisation on an aircraft or aircraftcomponent. Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets at a tactical level.Demonstrates people management and leadership skills. Demonstrates awareness ofbroader external dependencies and identifies areas for continuous improvement.They should be able to demonstrate a distinctability to analyse and diagnose faults to the Typhoon, equipment andassemblies, follow diagnostic procedures and work effectively within a team.Providing guidance to less experienced team members in a diverse and dynamicoperational environment.Core Activity Undertake and complete taskedmaintenance & diagnostic activities on the Typhoon or weapons systems/components which mayinclude, as appropriate, aircraft ground handling, flight servicing, aircraft role changes, embodiments, componentremovals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications,replacements and/or functional/system test Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspectionand supervision activities on an aircraft or aircraft components. Assuring workcarried out has been completed in accordance with the SOW / Work package usingthe relevant approved technical information. Resolving faults and maintenanceissues, including an awareness of configuration management Supervising the team to ensure that maintenanceis undertaken to schedule and highlight any issues, escalate as required.Report on any impact to the wider programme Ensuring staff aresufficiently competent and approved for the maintenance tasks allocated tothem. Maintain personal & teams task authorisation for working on anaircraft or components in accordance with AMC requirements Undertaking support taskswithin the Aircraft or component maintenance facility which are required tomaintain compliance with the MOE and AMC procedures (e.g. oversight checks,control of tooling / test equipment) Provide guidance and leadership totheteam. Develop team members using formal assessment processes, e.g.PDR's, support and sponsor training requests including 'on the job training'.Demonstrate sound and comprehensive communication and people management skillsin order to exchange complicated information Undertaking fault evaluation and raisead hoc work cards and for 'found faults' during maintenance Ability to scope and carry outindependent and vital inspections Demonstrating a flexible and proactiveattitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and tasks Maintaining personal & teams taskauthorisation for working on the Typhoon or components in accordance withregulatory requirements Ensuring that maintenance isundertaken to schedule and resolve any issues, escalate as required Ensuring all maintenance activitiesare appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained onrelevant systems (IT/paper based). Compile required reporting, identify anyissues and escalate as appropriate Providing supportand guidance, including allocation of tasks to appropriately authorisedmaintenance technicians Compilingappropriate reporting, identification of any issues, resolving and escalatingas appropriate to ensure the maintenance servicing remains on schedule Providing OJT aligned to the roletraining specification to QAF candidate
