Job Description Job Overview: The Senior Manager Piping Engineering is responsible for developing departmental plans, including business, production, and organizational priorities. The role requires multidisciplinary expertise and an understanding of the industry to meet financial and operational goals. The Regional Discipline Manager - Piping Engineering manages multiple teams, sets priorities, and allocates resources. As the discipline SME, they must identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational issues. The role supports projects, products, services, and develops policies and plans to impact business results. Responsibilities Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Provide leadership to managers and staff within the department. Accountable for the performance of multiple disciplines within the department. Apply managerial expertise to achieve financial and operational objectives. Resolve complex problems within the area of responsibility. Develop operational plans to meet business objectives. Influence organizational leadership to achieve operational goals. Manage performance through goal setting, assessment, and coaching. Contribute to strategy development. Propose scope splits between engineering offices or subcontractors during bidding and award stages. Negotiate with other disciplines and teams for optimal schedules and budgets. Participate in project meetings, vendor meetings, and engineering reviews. Coordinate with peers and global engineering teams. Foster teamwork among regional or functional managers and provide bid assistance. Ensure availability and proper allocation of discipline manpower resources. Maintain norms for budgets and forecasts. Prepare and review departmental budgets and forecasts. Manage financial and operational targets. Align departmental plans with business objectives. Meet group DOE forecasts within schedule and budget. Review and approve key departmental documents and drawings. Conduct staff feedback sessions. Identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational issues. Keep leadership informed of high-level activities and concerns. Plan and recommend staffing, training, and recruitment. Coordinate personnel training and development. Evaluate performance and recommend classifications and compensation changes. Travel regularly within offshore Middle East and to Chennai as required. Reports to: Senior Director Engineering Liaises with: Regional engineering directors, project managers, offshore/onshore managers, HR, safety, procurement, and external partners. Supervises: All discipline managers, engineers, designers, and support staff within the department. Qualifications Essential Qualifications and Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering. 20+ years of experience in Oil and Gas with major contractors or consultants. 5+ years of proven management experience leading piping disciplines in a similar industry role. Preferably a Registered Professional Engineer or member of a professional society. Knowledge of design techniques, analysis methods, and statutory codes.
