LENDERS E&S COMPLIANCE LEADER
Description
Position will be based in Iraq on Ratawi Solar project (or at the Dubai project office) and strongly involved in project preparation, monitoring, and execution. Close cooperation with TEEP Ratawi affiliate and other GGIP projects will be necessary. Activities Lender E&S compliance management for SPV : Adopt and deploy PROJECTs, Company’s E&S standards, ambitions, and commitments, Support PROJECT to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards throughout its lifecycle (local regulation, lenders’ requirements - IFC, Company standards, and commitments towards E&S), Define, where applicable, and follow-up on the status of project’s E&S studies and plans, associated planning and budgets, Raise, report, and resolve any E&S incidents, Report progress of E&S activities to the SPV HSE Management and support reporting to the Company head office, Participate and represent the SPV during meetings with key external stakeholders/communities and during site visits (Authorities/Consultants/Lenders/Contractors), Prepare, manage, and update SPP E&S Management System and Plans (including Stakeholder Engagement Plan, Grievance Mechanism, Biodiversity Management Plan, etc.) in close cooperation with the GGIP Affiliate, Transverse coordination related to Lenders: Ensure close coordination with TEEP Ratawi affiliate E&S team , Ensure close coordination with REN E&S team , Participate in various HSE and E&S coordination meetings as required, Gather and consolidate PROJECT’s E&S reporting database (including Sustainab’ALL KPIs) and ensure timely reporting as per PROJECT and other applicable requirements, Participate in environmental risk evaluations for audits or technical reviews for internal approval processes if requested. Serve as the E&S focal point for Lenders and the Technical Advisor during the ESDD/ESAP process, Ensure quality control of E&S studies and validate deliverables, Request support from the Company headquarters’ E&S experts for scope of work revisions and validation of studies, Maintain familiarity with Lenders’ expectations related to E&S topics and financing agreements, Prepare monthly IFC compliance reports, Coordinate quarterly Lender IESC site visits and follow-up, Prepare bi-annual monitoring reports for Lenders and follow-up on actions, Ensure Contractors’ implementation of E&S requirements: Review and approve EPC Construction E&S management plans (CESMP) prior to EPC contract signing and start, Monitor and ensure proper implementation of EPC CESMP, Coordinate between EPC CESMP and SPV ESMS, Participate in HSE meetings with Contractors’ Environmental Managers and CLRs, ensuring E&S issues are addressed, Conduct regular E&S site inspections. Ensure adherence to TEEPRH Social Performance Strategy: Report to the Sustainability Manager and coordinate with the Sustainability team on all Social Performance matters, Ensure Solar Contractors apply and report SP requirements to the affiliate via enforced mechanisms. This position is mainly based in Basra - FX. Candidate Profile Degree or Diploma in Environmental or Social Engineering or similar Advanced English skills (written and spoken) Arabic language skills are a plus - Minimum 5 years as an E&S Consultant for Project Sponsors and Lenders interactions and/or similar experience - Experience in IFC PS, EBRD compliance monitoring - Experience in ESIA processing for renewable projects - Experience in ESDD reporting and Lender requirements follow-up - Experience in construction environmental and social management - Experience in local stakeholder management Strong knowledge and understanding of International E&S requirements Proven knowledge of IFC PS requirements, Good technical writing skills Strong transverse management skills Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to HSE topics, Organizational skills and agility, Experience in developing, implementing, and improving health & safety and environment management systems.
