Fund Raising Consultant at Disaster and Development Organization (DADO) Established in 2008, the Disaster and Development organization (DADO) is an independent, non-profit and specializes in policy analysis, action research and projectimplementation for disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, public health, business continuity management and sustainable development at local, national, regional and global levels. DADO's work encompasses the interdisciplinary field of sustainability science, focusing on the intricate interplay between environmental preservation, societal well-being, and economic equilibrium. It’s niches on disaster and development nexus that disaster events undermine development gains and development exacerbates disaster. In these contexts, unilineal disaster risk reduction approaches often fail due to fragmentation, individual knowledge, lack of coordination, leadership, resources, intuitional support and cost inefficiency. The solution is seen as a whole society, state, private and third sector approaches that can integrate multi-hazard and development planning processes together. The DADO aims to prepare an inclusive resilient society through building capacity of the individual, professionals and community living at risk areas for better coping with disasters and achieving sustainable development. DADO's work is guided by three foundational principles: Prioritizing initiatives that benefit the most disadvantaged populations. Extending our reach to remote and inaccessible regions. Operating in areas that are highly vulnerable to disaster risks. Vision Our vision is to empower every member of society to reach their full potential, enabling them to thrive in increasingly challenging environments through environmental preservation, societal well-being, and economic prosperity. Mission Our mission is to protect life and livelihoods in disaster prone areas targeting those who are poor, marginalized, disadvantaged and disabled communities. Our interventions aim at improving lives of disaster affected marginalized communities and influence relevant policies and programs through its interactive activities of research, innovation, advocacy, solidarity and action. Aims of the DADO To reduce deaths, injuries and sufferings by disasters through building capacity of the individual and community for better coping with disasters and achieving sustainable development. Position This position will be remotely based, as a fund raising consultant with a Fixed Term Contract of one year, renewable for longer term based on both performance and mutual agreement. The position is open to candidates from any countries. Objective of this position DADO seeks enthusiastic graduate who would like to develop career in disaster and development sectors. The candidate will have an in-depth understanding of establishing charitable sector and has ambitious to progress independently to the sector globally. Key Responsibilities Develop research and development grants for funding organizations. Build collaborations with philanthropists, civil society, NGOs, INGOs, UN agencies, and public/private sectors. Conduct research on disasters and sustainable development. Take proactive measures to prevent avoidable disaster-related deaths. Lead capacity-building initiatives for students, youth, professionals, and communities. Launch awareness programs on early warning response for disaster-affected communities. Support green economy and clean technology initiatives. Develop a team of young scholars to engage with academic knowledge, policy, and participatory approaches. Qualifications Education Criteria Experience Criteria Highly motivated to build a career in research and development. Strong written and spoken English. Able to cover own expenses while achieving grant targets. Prior grant-writing experience is an advantage.
