In this role, you will design, build, and manage powerful data systems using Vertica. You will work closely with our data scientists, analysts, and developers to ensure data flows smoothly, is accurate, and is ready for fast use. You will also help move data from Oracle and SQL Server to Vertica on time. Your work will help our business make smart decisions quickly and confidently.Responsibilities Design and set up strong data pipelines to bring data into Vertica from different sources using tools like SAP BODS and Informatica.Build and maintain data models for fast and smooth data use in Vertica.Migrate data from Oracle, SQL Server, or SQLite to Vertica.Write functions and procedures to prepare data for business needs.Work with data scientists and analysts to provide the right data for their projects.Set up checks to make sure data is correct and reliable.Use Vertica Py with machine learning tools for data science projects.Partner with Dev Ops for smooth deployment and running of Vertica systems.Improve database speed using indexing, partitioning, and tuning methods.Keep track of Vertica?s health, fix issues, and prevent future problems.Help create best practices and data governance standards for Vertica.Stay updated on new Vertica and big data trends to suggest improvements.Keep clear documentation of designs, flows, and systems.Support users so they can use Power BI reports with ease.Qualifications Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.4+ years of experience with Vertica databases.Strong skills in SQL, data modeling, and ETL processes.Experience migrating data from Oracle/SQL Server to Vertica.Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.Experience in performance tuning for Vertica databases.Familiarity with Linux, shell scripting, and other big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.Good problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.Vertica certification and skills in Power BI, SAP BI, SAS, or Tableau are an advantage.Why Join Us?Be part of a supportive and skilled team that values innovation and results.Work with cutting-edge data technologies.Enjoy opportunities to learn, grow, and lead in your career.Your work will have a real impact on business success.We value teamwork, creativity, and adaptability.Application Instructions If you possess the qualifications and are driven to excel in your field, we warmly invite you to apply by sharing your updated resume at resumes@empglobal.ae or by applying directly through this platform.Note: While we appreciate every application, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
