Ex-CBRE & Knight Frank MENAThe Procurement Engineer(MEP) is responsible for strategically managing the procurement and sourcing activities within the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) category. This role involves developing and executing category strategies, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost efficiency and quality standards are met.Responsibilities: 1. Sourcing and Procurement: • Research, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers of Mechanical and Electrical items needed for residential, commercial buildings and substations.• Lead the sourcing and procurement efforts for MEP materials, equipment, and services from locally and internationally.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements, select appropriate suppliers, and negotiate pricing and terms.• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors in the MEP category.• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with agreements and terms.3. Cost Management and Budgeting: • Analyze costs, market trends, and pricing structures to identify opportunities for cost reductions while maintaining quality standards.• Develop and manage budgets for the MEP category and monitor spending against budgeted targets.4. Quality Assurance and Compliance: • Ensure that procured materials and equipment meet the required quality standards and comply with industry regulations and company policies.• Work with quality control teams to establish and maintain quality assurance processes.5. Category Strategy Development: • Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for MEP materials, equipment, and services based on market analysis, business needs, and company objectives.• Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier consolidation within the MEP category.6.
