Description
The Career Centre Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Academy s Career Centre. The role focuses on equipping students and graduates with the tools, resources, and opportunities to transition successfully from education to maritime industry employment or further academic pursuits. The manager fosters strong relationships with industry partners, oversees career guidance programs, and ensures alignment with the Academy s strategic objectives and student employability goals.Job Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Planning & Leadership Develop and implement the Career Centre s vision, strategy, and annual action plans.Establish career development goals that align with the Academy s academic and industry-focused objectives.Monitor and assess outcomes and KPIs (e.g., graduate employability, internship placements).Provide career counselling, coaching, and employability workshops to students and alumni.Design and deliver programs on CV writing, interview techniques, job search strategies, and career planning.Offer individual and group career assessments and development plans.3. Employer Engagement & Partnerships Build and maintain partnerships with shipping companies, port authorities, logistics firms, and maritime service providers.Coordinate internships, co-op programs, and placement opportunities with employers.Host regular employer engagement events such as career fairs, industry panels, and recruitment days.4. Career Services Operations Oversee the daily operations of the Career Centre including staffing, scheduling, and service delivery.Maintain a comprehensive database of students, alumni, employers, and job opportunities.Implement and manage career services software and platforms.5. Alumni and Graduate Tracking Maintain contact with graduates to gather employment data and feedback for program improvement.Develop alumni engagement programs to support mentoring, networking, and hiring initiatives.6. Reporting & Compliance Prepare annual reports on student career readiness, job placement rates, and employer feedback.Ensure adherence to institutional policies and national education and labor regulations.Stay up to date with maritime industry trends, labor market shifts, and education-to-employment pathways.Introduce innovative tools such as online portfolios, job boards, and competency-based evaluations Qualification & Experience: Education: Bachelor s or master s degree in Career Counselling, Education, Human Resources, Maritime Studies, or a related field.Experience: 5+ years of experience in career services or student affairs, preferably in a maritime or technical education setting.Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the maritime labor market and international recruitment standards.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.Company Industry Education Training Teaching Department / Functional Area HRHuman Relations Industrial Relations Keywords Disclaimer: Naukrigulf.com is only a platform to bring jobseekers & employers together.
