Position: Oiler-Offshore Work Location: Abu Dhabi Island Rotation: 60/30JOB PURPOSE: The job purpose of an Oiler is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of machinery on boarda vessel or within an industrial setting. This role is crucial for maintaining the functionality andsafety of mechanical systems by applying lubricants performing routine maintenance and assistingwith repairs. The Oiler helps prevent mechanical failures and extends the lifespan of equipmentcontributing to the overall operational efficiency and safety of the workplace.3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Lubrication: Apply lubricants to various parts of machinery to ensure smooth operation.2. Maintenance: Assist engineers with the maintenance and repair of engine room machinery andequipment.3. Inspection: Perform routine checks and maintenance of the engines supporting systems such asoil filters and lubricating pumps.4. Record Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of machinery performance and report any abnormalitiesto the engineering officer.5. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental policies and regulations concerningwaste oil and lubricants.6. Operational Support: Support the operation of pumps engines and other machinery includingstarting and stopping equipment.7. Cleaning: Clean and maintain tools and workspaces in the engine room to ensure a safe andefficient environment.8. Emergency Response: Participate in safety drills and contribute to the ships overall safetyprocedures.4. QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the maritime industry is preferred.Education: A high school diploma or equivalent; completion of a training program in marineengine maintenance is advantageous.Certifications: A valid Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC) with an Oiler endorsement orequivalent certification.Technical Skills: Knowledge of maritime safety protocols and experience with hazardousmaterial handling.Physical Fitness: Good physical condition due to the demanding nature of the job whichmay include heavy lifting and working in confined spaces. #J-18808-Ljbffr
