Voyage Manager (Chemicals)

Job Purpose: Ensure safe and cost-efficient ship operation for assigned vessels. Analyze operations and take initiative to improve vessel performance and ensure best practices.Key Accountabilities: Voyage Management Monitor voyage progress and KPIs of assigned vessels and ensure safe and cost-efficient ship operation. Handle voyage orders, vessel scheduling, and all vessel documentation. Liaise with masters and agents, demurrage claims, and process day-to-day operational duties. Take initiative to improve vessel performance and ensure best practices. Follow up on freight collection and control voyage-related expenses. Advise on operational matters when negotiating cargo contracts as well as spot fixtures.Schedule Management Manage timely scheduling and accurate berth information for departure and arrival. Monitor voyage progress and KPIs of vessels. Execute logistics of voyage operations undertaken by vessels.Monitor voyage progress and KPIs of vessels either for spot-in or spot-out. Coordinate with the customer in relation to assigned ships. Appoint and liaise with port agents in relation to assigned ships to ensure smooth operational turnaround.Scheduling and coordination Provide scheduling with the timeliest and most accurate berth information. Ensure agency services are procured prior to the vessel's arrival in port. Procure and coordinate deliveries to the vessels in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. Proactively communicate with chartering personnel, ship managers, vessel management, and port agents.Compliance Proactively monitor assigned vessels vetting status. Ensure vessel compliance with voyage orders and charter party obligations. Update the system with accurate operational information (port timings, cargo nominations, and cargo loaded).Agent and service provider management Monitor performance of agents and other service providers. Liaise with agents and service providers to resolve any operational problems. Develop and maintain excellent customer relations and service providers.Coach and mentor Coach more junior staff to be effective professionals. Provide advice on complex matters that require more experience.Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's in Transportation/Logistics/Maritime Studies or commercially related shipping subjects or equivalent.Minimum of 10 years of experience in the chemical tanker business. #J-18808-Ljbffr
