As the Haematology Medical Director, International, you will play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities in novel ways to make a positive impact on improving patients' lives. Astra Zeneca's vision in Oncology is to help patients by redefining the cancer-treatment paradigm. A broad pipeline of next-generation medicines focuses on ovarian, lung, and hematological cancers, targeting four key platforms: immunotherapy, genetic drivers of cancer and resistance, DNA damage response, and antibody-drug conjugates, underpinned by personalized healthcare and biomarker technologies. In International Medical Affairs, what’s next is centered around improving patient outcomes and reducing health inequity across the markets we serve. What You’ll Do As the International Medical Director for Haematology, you will support the launches in Haematology, working cross-functionally in both the region and its countries to drive the delivery of medical objectives and build medical capabilities and proficiencies in the teams. You will also collaborate with global and external partners and healthcare providers to improve Haematology care across the region. Design the international medical strategy for Haematology and co-create the regional brand strategy with the commercial lead, ensuring alignment on key objectives. Plan and deliver brand activities for Haematology cancer in collaboration with other medical directors. Provide medical input and expertise for regional commercial, regulatory, and market access functions. Support and influence key medical teams, ensuring they have the training, skills, and knowledge to deliver high-quality medical affairs activities. Collaborate with global and regional teams to share needs and stay informed on strategies and priorities. Develop relationships with key external experts and stakeholders to improve health outcomes. Manage activities including evidence generation, external medical education, and insight gathering to fill gaps. Identify opportunities in early diagnosis, proactive screening, and guideline-concordant care. Propose data generation plans to support launches and reimbursement efforts. Essential For The Role Advanced degree, preferably MD, Pharm D, or Ph D. Solid experience in CAR-T therapies. At least 5 years of experience in medical affairs, including leadership in strategy, launch planning, and execution. Experience in team and project management with cross-cultural engagement. Knowledge in solid tumor oncology, preferably Haematology. Experience collaborating with external parties and managing cross-functional teams. Strong business acumen. Understanding regulatory and compliance frameworks. Growth mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and openness to change.
