Join to apply for the Blockchain Forensic Investigator role at 1inch Labs Continue with Google Continue with Google3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Join to apply for the Blockchain Forensic Investigator role at 1inch Labs We are expanding our Compliance & Investigations team and looking for a Blockchain Forensic Investigator with experience in blockchain analytics, financial crime detection, and law enforcement collaboration.In this role, you will analyze virtual currency transactions to identify illicit activity, trace suspicious funds, and provide actionable intelligence to internal teams and external agencies. Your work will transform complex blockchain data into clear narratives that support compliance efforts and strengthen our security.You will help detect and mitigate risks related to fraud, hacks, money laundering, and sanctions violations. Staying ahead of emerging threats in crypto-related crime and global regulatory trends will be essential.This role involves close cooperation with law enforcement, compliance, legal, and cybersecurity teams to ensure investigations are handled with accuracy and integrity.We're seeking someone who can lead sensitive investigations, manage high-stakes cases, and act as a trusted escalation point.Key Requirements Conduct in-depth investigations using OSINT and blockchain analytics tools (e.g., TRM Labs, Chainalysis, Etherscan)Trace illicit activity and produce clear, actionable intelligence reports Perform risk assessments on high-value or suspicious transactions Identify patterns and recommend mitigation strategies Provide detailed documentation to support legal and compliance workflows Maintain strong records of freeze actions, flags, and investigation steps Work closely with legal, compliance, finance, and support teams Align investigative findings with internal policies and regulatory requirements Develop and support rapid response protocols for high-risk incidents Ensure clear escalation paths and follow-up actions are in place Responsibilities Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field2–4+ years of hands-on experience in blockchain investigations, financial crime analysis, or crypto compliance Proven expertise in using blockchain forensic tools and open-source platforms (e.g., TRM Labs, Chainalysis, Elliptic, Arkham) to trace illicit funds and map wallet activity Demonstrated experience in analyzing blockchain transaction patterns and recognizing suspicious behavior across digital asset ecosystems, including cross-chain and De Fi activity Prior experience working with law enforcement agencies or responding to legal requests is highly desirable Strong background in open-source intelligence (OSINT) methodologies to identify wallet owners, trace the flow of digital assets, and produce comprehensive reports Ability to recognize and interpret technical identifiers that support remote threat investigations, including usernames, hashed passwords, email addresses, IP addresses, crypto artifacts, mail headers, and server/domain intelligence Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to connect multiple data points across different platforms and tools Clear and confident communicator, able to explain complex blockchain concepts through verbal, written, and visual storytelling for both technical and non-technical audiences Proactively takes initiative and demonstrates strong ownership Agile and adaptable in a dynamic work environment Comfortable with fast-paced workflows and shifting priorities Embraces change as part of the daily routine Well-adjusted to remote work culture and distributed teams Why you'll love working with us Join a young, creative team in a fast-paced and supportive environment We’re open to new ideas — if you’ve got a vision, pitch it and make it happen Enjoy competitive pay that matches your skills and experience Be part of a company that’s shaping the future of De Fi Take time when you need it — we offer unlimited vacation days Get fully compensated for your work gear — we’ll set you up for success Travel with us!
