Job Title: Senior Contracts & Commercial Manager We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Contracts & Commercial Manager to oversee large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will have: Degree qualified (BSc / MSc) and professionally recognized (MRICS / FRICS), with senior professional experience in project delivery of large projects. Over 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in similar client or consultant roles. Expertise in reviewing, understanding, and applying contracts and framework agreements. Experience in drafting contract particulars and appendices, compiling tender documents, conducting tender negotiations, and analyzing and recommending contract conditions. Ability to review existing operations across all project phases, including processes and procedures in both office and site environments. Skills in assessing organizational strengths and weaknesses and developing bespoke processes covering quality, progress, commercial, contractual, safety, design, and construction activities. Proven track record as a Commercial/Contracts Manager delivering large, multi-functional projects. Strong negotiation skills and claims management experience on major projects. Commercial and contractual acumen, including management of contractual correspondence and drafting responses. Knowledge of project controls, especially change management procedures. A well-rounded profile comfortable with planning, analysis, and managing process and commercial considerations, with a drive for successful project delivery. Excellent relationship-building skills within complex organizational structures, with clients, and internally. Experience in evaluating independent consultants and assessing compliance with contractual obligations. Ability to oversee and improve contractual compliance within the organization. Capability to report directly to the Commercial Director for PDO, while supporting the PDO and PMC teams in contract administration and management. Willingness to deputize for the PDO Commercial Director when required. Candidate Profile: Support existing operations within a private sector organization throughout all project phases, focusing on contracts management, procurement, cost, and contractual assessments. Provide full quantity surveying services as needed. Maintain and enhance the company's reputation with clients and develop long-term relationships and new opportunities. Integrate effectively within the PDO team, supporting colleagues and senior management. Key Competencies: Procurement Management: Develop procurement and contracting strategies. Contract Management & Administration: Supervise, review, monitor, evaluate, and report on all contracts. Budget & Cost Control: Oversee master budgets and individual project finances. Payment Applications: Review and recommend on payment submissions. Variation & Claims Management: Assess, value, and advise on variations and claims. Final Accounts: Manage preparation, review, and settlement processes. This role is within the Contract Management and Quantity Surveying departments.
