Ex-CBRE & Knight Frank MENARole Description: The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and services required for the operations of a Steel Factory-specifically within Rolling Mill, Cut and Bend activities. The role requires close coordination with production, engineering, and quality departments to ensure timely availability of materials/Equipment’s/ Machines that meet technical and project specifications.Key Responsibilities: • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers of steel materials (rebar, mesh, etc.), machinery spares, and consumables based on quality, cost, and reliability.• Identify and evaluate suppliers for rolling mill Machinery/ Materials for Reheating furnaces, rolling stands, shears, conveyors, cooling beds, coilers, drives and automation systems.• Source and purchase primary raw materials such as steel billets, ingots, and slabs based on production forecasts and procure operational consumables like Lubricants and hydraulic oils, Graphite and refractory materials, Roll coolant and descaling agents etc.• Liaise with maintenance and production teams to procure critical spares for Gearboxes, motors, rolls, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.• Raise purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders while ensuring timely delivery to meet production schedules.• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse to maintain optimal stock levels.• Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to secure favourable pricing, lead times, and delivery conditions.• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality control teams to align procurement with operational needs.• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and relevant industry regulations.• Maintain procurement records and reports to track supplier performance and cost savings.• Manage supplier relationships and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or invoices.• Source alternative materials or suppliers in case of shortages or quality concerns.• Knowledge of local and international suppliers for steel and related materials.• Familiarity with international standards (ASTM, BS, DIN) for steel materials.Qualification: • bachelor’s degree in civil engineering / mechanical or a related field.• Experience in working with cut & bend operations or rebar processing facilities rolling mill, (rebar, cut & bend).• Proven experience as a Procurement Engineer or in a similar procurement role within the construction industry.• Solid understanding of civil engineering items, equipment, and services.• Familiarity with procurement processes, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate supplier proposals and make data-driven decisions.• Excellent negotiation and communication skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.• Proficiency in using procurement software and tools for tracking and managing procurement activities.• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.• Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the construction industry.Seniority level Seniority level Associate Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Purchasing and Manufacturing Industries Real Estate and Construction Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Azizi Developments by 2x Get notified about new Procurement Engineer jobs in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.Procurement and Logistics Sourcing Specialist Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates 9 hours ago Procurement Engineer- Aluminum & Glass Factory We’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
