Description Role: Student Recruitment Officer Grade: Grade 5Appointment: Fulltime Open-ended Department: MRAC Directorate Location: Dubai Campus About our School/Directorate/Team: The Marketing Recruitment Admissions and Communications group is at the heart of attracting and delivering exceptional student services. The Admissions Office handles over 20,000 applications annually for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at our Scottish campuses, as well as supporting admissions colleagues in Dubai and Malaysia. Our aim is to ensure all applicants receive high-quality, timely, and fair service, with a focus on putting the applicant at the center of our activities.Purpose of Role: Heriot Watt is entering an exciting phase of development, with centralised recruitment and admissions teams in Edinburgh and a new structure being developed for our Dubai Campus. Reporting to the Student Recruitment Manager, the successful candidate will coordinate and deliver activities to meet recruitment targets for UG, PG, and research degrees. This includes organizing customer-facing events and providing excellent customer service to prospective students, ensuring the university is promoted effectively. Creativity and proactive follow-up are essential to convert prospects into enrolled students.Key Responsibilities: Act as an ambassador for the university to prospective students and stakeholders.Support the implementation of recruitment plans, including on-campus events, fairs, and external activities.Assist in planning and executing recruitment events, bringing innovative ideas.Represent the university at regional recruitment fairs, providing information and guidance.Manage a calendar of recruitment events, handle enquiries, and coordinate communications to maximize attendance.Operate within budgets, maintaining expenditure records.Oversee the design and production of promotional materials.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation at events.Manage the student ambassador scheme to support recruitment activities.Build and maintain external contacts to enhance recruitment efforts.Collaborate with Marketing to produce marketing materials.Provide excellent customer service, utilizing CRM systems to track engagement.Engage via multiple communication channels, including social media and virtual events.Respond promptly and personally to enquiries, offering tailored advice.Support colleagues with admissions enquiries and maintain FAQ resources.Assist in optimizing lead capture and managing recruitment events.Liaise with marketing and recruitment teams to ensure consistent messaging.Support during peak admissions periods and participate in marketing activities.Perform other relevant duties as required.Qualifications & Experience: Essential Strong literacy and numeracy skills or equivalent experience.Experience in a multichannel customer experience environment.Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Excellent interpersonal skills.Experience in face-to-face customer service and event organization.Professional, proactive, and detail-oriented approach.Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.Flexible, quick, and accurate work style.Creative problem-solving skills.Desirable Arabic language skills.Degree-level education.Experience in higher or secondary education administration.Knowledge of UAE and international education markets.Experience with databases and CRM systems.Innovative approach to customer engagement.Please note that this description is not exhaustive, and duties may evolve over time.How to Apply Please submit your application via the Heriot Watt online recruitment system, including a cover letter and an updated CV.Our Values We are committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, fostering a supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
