The firms specializes in Landscape Architecture, Urban Infrastructure and Climate and Sustainability.About the role.Our client is seeking a Senior Lighting Designer with a strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and leadership skills to join the landscape architectural team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and executing exterior lighting designs that enhance the aesthetic and functional quality of outdoor spaces while meeting sustainability and safety standards.The Senior Lighting Designer will collaborate closely with landscape architects and project managers to deliver innovative lighting solutions for public parks, urban plazas, hospitality landscapes, and mixed-use developments.Key Responsibilities: Lead the conceptual and detailed design of exterior lighting for landscape and urban spaces.Develop lighting design strategies that enhance ambiance, visibility, and identity while supporting environmental goals.Prepare comprehensive lighting design packages including layouts, lighting calculations, fixture selections, and specifications.Coordinate with internal design teams and external consultants (architects, MEP engineers, contractors) for seamless integration.Supervise or mentor junior lighting designers and electrical engineers and oversee production of drawings and documentation.Create mood boards, renderings, and presentations to effectively communicate lighting intent to clients.Conduct on-site inspections, aiming and commissioning to ensure design intent is realized.Stay updated on lighting technologies, control systems, and international standards.Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and energy efficiency requirements.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in lighting design, architecture, interior design, or related field.Minimum of 7 years of experience working as a lighting designer in a professional setting.Proficiency in lighting design software such as Auto CAD, Dialux, or AGi Strong understanding of lighting design principles, trends, and technologies.Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and project teams.Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Design Industries Architecture and Planning and Design Services Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Locri Recruitment by 2x Get notified about new Lighting Designer jobs in Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates.We’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
