Accounting Specialist

We re looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Sri Lanka. The ideal candidate is someone great at numbers, who can think on their feet, has great communication skills and is a great team player.As an Accounting Specialist you will: Put together, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and our process standards Post transactions to our incredible accounting system backed with supporting documentation and approvals Put together beautiful financial reports and presentations Prepare and post periodic bank, stock and supplier reconciliations Analyse operational trends, costs, revenues, cash flows and profitability to project business performance and provide recommendations on improvements Develop, maintain and analyse budgets. Create variance reports to compare against actual performance and arrive at reasons for variances Develop, implement, modify and document accounting systems, procedures and internal practices Assist in the preparation of year-end accounting statements and external audits by preparing schedules, supporting documentation and other information requirements You ll experience what it is like to work in a fun, entrepreneurial, and high growth startup!What we'd like Great people are effective at quickly learning what we use or introduce us to new ways of working.Having said that, we think an Accounting Specialist should: Have a professional qualification or degree in Accounting or Finance Have obsessive attention to detail while also being able to spot the bigger picture Possess at least one year of experience in an accounting and finance related role Demonstrate clear knowledge of accounting and finance concepts Ideally have previous experience in a startup environment Be able to take on lots of responsibility, juggle deadlines and push for outcomes Deliver no matter what it takes Be lots of fun to work with!Nice to haves Prior experience at a high growth startup or at an established fintech firm Fluency in other languages in addition to English including Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, and Tamil Experience working with a remote, global, multicultural team Disclaimer: Naukrigulf.com is only a platform to bring jobseekers & employers together.
