Job Purpose: The incumbent will manage a team of underwriters, make key decisions on BAF applications for individuals and companies as per the Retail Credit Policy, and prepare proposals for high-value transactions, including deviations from the product-level Credit Policy within the delegation matrix. Principal Accountabilities: CREDIT APPRAISAL – ROLES & DUTIES Decide on high-value transactions and escalations in compliance with the Retail Credit Policy. Authorize deviations from the Credit Policy as per the deviations matrix. Evaluate cases and escalate to appropriate authorities as per the Credit Policy. Maintain zero errors and high productivity levels. Collaborate with front-end teams and clients to reduce errors and increase straight-through processing, thereby decreasing TAT. Coordinate with the Policy Team on deviations and new policy circulars for better understanding and decision-making. Make appropriate decisions within authority levels based on borrower character, repayment capability, business and economic conditions, collateral, and other factors; recommend cases to higher authorities as per the discretionary matrix. Ensure quality service to internal and external customers by adhering to SLA standards and possessing good market knowledge of UAE SME and Property markets. Review and decide on daily transactions efficiently within approved policies and authority levels. CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE: Ensure cases are completed within prescribed TAT and SLA with the Business Group. Resolve all issues and queries from branches within 2 hours. COMPLIANCE AND INTERNAL AUDIT Adhere to Operational Risk Guidelines. Comply fully with all risk-related policies and procedures, aiming for a satisfactory internal audit rating with no adverse findings or high-risk impacts. Address audit findings within the prescribed timeframe. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT Manage the team effectively in the absence of senior managers.
