The Linux/HPC administrator contributes to the support of Ansys software products and systems. In this role, the Linux/HPC administrator will collaborate with customers to understand High Performance Computing (HPC) environments and enable them to successfully leverage HPC capabilities of Ansys software products. This includes coordinating with customers, application engineers, developers, and system support engineers for troubleshooting customer issues and development of custom solutions. You will use advanced-level computer systems knowledge to provide technical post-sales support, find solutions to a wide variety of technical challenges, and channel customer feedback to improve Ansys products. You will be a part of our positive, dynamic team of enthusiastic and passionate engineers striving to deliver the highest quality solutions to our customers, advancing your knowledge, experience, and your impact on the success of our customers and Ansys.Key Duties and Responsibilities: Performs moderately complex diagnostics and troubleshooting activities to resolve customer issues in usage of HPC features of Ansys products.Develops custom extensions to cater to HPC environments of customers.Understands and employs best practices.Applies advanced-level Ansys software configuration, integration, and troubleshooting techniques to provide the highest level of technical support to customers.Adheres to support processes to ensure high-quality, timely customer service that results in customer satisfaction.Develops technical subject matter expertise in configuring software in one or more simulation areas.Submits suggestions for product improvement when needed and reports possible defects to Ansys.On an as-needed basis, supports Sales and Marketing by conducting demonstrations, webinars, online training, and other meetings.Participates in other strategic team and company initiatives as needed.Minimum Qualifications, Requirements and Experience: Required education and degree type: BS or MS in a computer or engineering-related field.Required minimum education and years of professional experience in a computer systems support, administrator, and/or software developer role: BS+5 or MS+3.Experience with supporting Linux and Windows-based computer systems, demonstrated understanding of concepts that impact software deployment and network administration.Familiarity with license-controlled software concepts and tools, experience deploying and administering an HPC system using Cluster Job Management Systems, knowledge of cloud-based environments.Experience with programming and scripting languages.Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English.Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses a sense of urgency.Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed.Preferred Qualifications and Skills: Preferred education and years of professional experience in a computer systems support, administrator, and/or software developer role: BS+8 or MS+6.2 years of experience in customer-facing roles associated with software deployment and configuration, or IT-administration, where the ability to identify customer requirements, effectively communicate solutions, and deliver results have been demonstrated.Experience with supporting Linux-based computer systems.Performance Computing topics such as high-speed interconnects, Cloud Portals, Cluster Job Management software, MPI & Remote visualization.CRM tools and processes.Deploying & Administering an HPC system using Cluster Job Management Systems such as Grid Engine, LSF, or PBS.Cloud-based environments such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Windows Azure using tools relevant to those environments (such as Cloud Formation, Chef, or Puppet for AWS).Deployment and administration of the ANSYS family of Products. #J-18808-Ljbffr
