We hold in-person team meetings a few times a year in interesting locations worldwide.We are hiring a Dedicated Services Engineer to support our customers in Saudi Arabia. This onsite role involves maintaining and optimizing private cloud infrastructure, collaborating directly with clients to diagnose and resolve technical issues, and ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of the private cloud.The role requires a belief in automation as a software engineering problem, an interest in scientific operations at scale driven by metrics and code, and the ability to learn the entire stack from bare metal networking and kernel to serverless and open source applications.Location Dubai, United Arab Emirates Role Responsibilities Work as part of the site reliability engineering team, bringing Python skills and operational rigor.Practice Dev Sec Ops from bare metal to application, architect and run Open Stack, Kubernetes, and software-defined storage.Enable Dev Sec Ops for applications on this infrastructure.Work in a high-pressure environment with mission-critical services for global clients.Candidate Requirements Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.Expertise in Bash scripting and Python development.Operational experience and troubleshooting skills in Linux environments.Ability to work independently onsite with clients.Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for up to two weeks.Preferred Skills Experience with Open Stack or Kubernetes deployment/operations.Familiarity with public or private cloud management.What We Offer Distributed work environment with biannual in-person team sprints.Annual learning and development budget of USD 2,000.Regular compensation reviews, bonuses, and benefits.Additional perks including holiday leave, parental leave, employee assistance, travel opportunities, and more.About Canonical Canonical is a pioneering open-source software company, publisher of Ubuntu, and leader in AI, Io T, and cloud platforms.
