Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.The Assistant Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing comprehensive financial reporting across multiple legal entities and geographies. This includes month-end and year-end closing processes with financial statements, VAT and corporate tax compliance and filing, financial analysis, audit support, and the implementation of internal controls. The role also involves driving process improvements and handling ad-hoc projects. The Assistant Financial Controller works collaboratively with other members of the finance team to ensure the successful completion of all financial tasks.Key Areas of Responsibilities: Verifying and posting all financial entries in financial modules such as SAGE, MS Dynamics, and Microsys.Ensuring revenue and expenses are posted to correct general ledger codes.Responsible for timely closing of books and submitting consolidated financial statements to the Director by the due date, with a financial reporting deadline of the 12th of each month.Closing sales and cost of sales by the 4th working day of each month to report sales and gross profit by the 5th.Reviewing and reconciling general ledger accounts and preparing account schedules supporting income statements and balance sheets.Leading and guiding the finance team in closing the books on time.Assisting teammates and taking charge of subordinates during absences to ensure regular tasks are completed.Ensuring VAT input and output are accurately recorded and VAT returns are filed timely.Managing corporate tax calculations and filings on schedule.Supporting the Finance Director with routine and ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis.Preparing cash flow reports with the assistance of Accounts Receivables and Payables Executives.Verifying and signing off payment vouchers before approval by the Financial Director.Processing customer refunds accurately.Acting as a business partner for internal stakeholders to improve processes, reduce redundancy, and maintain internal controls.Professional Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent.Qualified Professional Accountant – CA/ ACCA or equivalent.Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience within the GCC region.Proficiency in English; knowledge of Urdu, Hindi, or Malayalam is desirable.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and ERP systems (MS Dynamics, SAGE).Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; team-oriented attitude.Interpersonal Requirements: Excellent organizational and time management skills.Attention to detail with the ability to multitask.Discretion in handling confidential information.Positive, proactive team player attitude.What We Bring to the Table: A fun, friendly workplace with a great culture, including free lunches.An inclusive, collaborative community that values your voice and creativity.Opportunities to make a meaningful impact with your ideas.A modern office environment that fosters inspiration, creativity, and teamwork.A talented, humble team committed to innovation, openness, humor, respect, and motivation.Who We Are & What We’re About: At Kcal, we focus on continuous self-improvement and empowerment.
