Ehs Specialist

Principal Accountabilities Assist the EHS Manager in implementing, developing, and monitoring EHS policies and procedures to achieve objectives, targets, and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.Provide EHS advice, guidance, and coaching to the plant team using a variety of approaches (both direct and support) to help them implement and comply with all EHS requirements in a sustainable manner.Conduct regular inspections and checks, preparing related reports.Perform behavioral safety observations and assist in developing the site’s Behavioral Safety (BS) program.Monitor general compliance on the shop floor (e.g., PPEs, KSBs, SWPs) and take immediate corrective actions to address any issues, escalating where necessary.Ensure that all non-routine, critical, and third-party work is carried out under the appropriate and compliant work permits.Regularly review and update EHS communication tools (monitors, NM boards, signs, etc.), reporting and addressing any issues (e.g., damage, outdated or missing items).Ensure that all EHS systems (alarm, firefighting, fire suppression, emergency lights, CCTV, etc.) are functioning properly and take immediate corrective actions in case of malfunctions or impairments.Actively participate in risk assessments, accident investigations, planning, communication, Reward and Recognition (R&R), Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans (EPRP), monitoring, inspections, and audits as assigned by the EHS Manager.Recognize and promote positive behaviors and practices.Contribute to the development, maintenance, review, and continuous improvement of EHS systems and procedures (SSOW, SWPs, SOPs, etc.).Handle any emerging situations and additional responsibilities assigned by the manager that align with the main job purpose.Decision-Making Authority Take immediate corrective actions, including stopping activities or closing areas in case of violations (non-conformance or non-compliance) or when concerns arise that may affect the safety and health of people.Qualifications Experience/Competencies Required: Strong people management skills.Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities, including root cause analysis and action planning.Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence others both internally and externally, even without direct reporting relationships.Recognized EHS qualifications, preferably NEBOSH IGC and Environmental Management, along with compliance with Ministry requirements.Proficiency in both Arabic and English, with strong computer literacy.Ability to support others in ensuring that requirements are understood and met. #J-18808-Ljbffr
