Bachelor of Technology/Engineering, Bachelor of Science Nationality: Any Nationality Vacancy: 1 Vacancy Job Description The Construction Director will be a qualified professional currently working at Director level, providing planning, leadership, direction, and technical expertise to manage complex tasks and multidisciplinary projects. The candidate must have a minimum of BSc, BEng, BA or equivalent, hold Chartered status, and possess more than 20 years of experience, with at least 7 years in a similar project or role. The Construction Director will also be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Atkins Ral's reputation with clients and developing long-term client relationships, thereby identifying and developing new opportunities for the Group. Responsibilities: Manage a multi-functional site supervision team responsible for delivering a large-scale rail infrastructure project, including tunnels, viaducts, and iconic stations, in accordance with the Client's requirements. Manage key stakeholder interfaces, including all departments within the Client organization and other government departments. Oversee construction management and control. Monitor contractors for compliance with contractual responsibilities. Track construction progress to ensure compliance with the schedule. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality standards, with a focus on health and safety. Ensure resources are adequate to meet current and future commitments, maximizing opportunities. Be forward-thinking and experienced in leading large, multi-disciplinary site teams. Requirements: Minimum qualification of BSc, BEng, or equivalent; advanced degrees and Chartered status are preferred. Over 20 years of experience, with at least 7 years in a similar project or role. Experience with large-scale construction operations, managing multiple contracts, especially in heavy civils including tunnels and viaducts, infrastructure, landscape, and public realm, highly desirable for this mega project, along with iconic building assets. Highly articulate, with experience in reporting and communication to senior executives. Proven track record as a Construction Director delivering large, multi-functional infrastructure projects, preferably in rail. Excellent knowledge of construction techniques, project control procedures, quality, and health & safety standards. A well-rounded profile, comfortable with planning, analysis, and managing process and commercial considerations. Ability to mobilize teams and drive successful project delivery. Effective at building relationships within complex organizational structures, with clients and internally.
