Our transportation and logistics team in the Middle East is experiencing exciting growth, and we have a need for an experienced Street Lighting Engineer to support one of our major clients in Qatar. This specialized professional combines technical expertise in electrical engineering with urban planning principles to create well-lit, safe, and energy-efficient public spaces. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop strategies to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. Prepare inspection plans and electrical examinations on lampposts in the country according to road classifications. Prepare periodic maintenance programs for all components of lamps, including lamps, columns, cables, and Feeder Pillars. Prepare periodic programs to install lampposts in dark areas and streets in coordination with the Public Works Authority. Collaborate closely with urban planners, architects, electrical contractors, and municipal authorities to develop comprehensive lighting strategies for diverse urban spaces, from residential streets to major highways, parks, and public squares. Work within a team of specialists with consulting firms based on the preparation of studies for management. Prepare technical reports, speeches, and visual presentations on the work of the Department and discuss them with stakeholders at the Ministry. Stay updated on emerging technologies and innovations in transportation and assess their potential applications. Throughout this dynamic role, you will develop strong relationships with the client, government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders, facilitating effective coordination and knowledge sharing. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be invaluable in driving continuous improvement and promoting open dialogue. Qualifications: Degree from a recognized university in Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience, with specialization in lighting design and electrical engineering, particularly in street lighting projects. In-depth understanding of electrical schematics and lighting plans, with knowledge of various light sources (LED, HID, fluorescent) and their characteristics. Bilingual skills to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and engage with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools to ensure timely and effective project execution.
