Job Overview Wood is seeking a seasoned Technical Safety Engineer to join their team in Sharjah, UAE. This is a full-time office-based role with occasional business trips.This position requires an individual with extensive experience in major Brownfield oil & gas projects, including at least five years in a similar position. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of engineering excellence through definition and approval of technical scopes, executing assigned scopes of work, providing technical expertise, and contributing to business growth.Key Responsibilities: Definition and Approval of Technical Scopes: Evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to improve efficiency of planning and scheduling projects.Makes recommendations on project organization requirements, work methods, and procedures and technical innovations by devising practical and economical solutions to problems in own or various engineering disciplines.Executing Assigned Scopes of Work: Supervises and participates in delivery of complex engineering tasks.Formulates and directs investigations or prototype, model, and system studies, evaluating and interpreting data obtained and recommending practical application of results.Contributes to successful project completion by participating in resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and complex coordination requirements.Providing Technical Expertise: Provides expert advice on design processes, construction methods, and other technical areas.Advises on development of new engineering methods and participates in short- and long-range planning.Solves problems requiring application of research data in own and allied professional disciplines; exercises mature business judgment in devising practical, economical solutions.Contributing to Business Growth: Contributes to business development through regular engagement, relationship building, and delivery to clients, as well as seeking opportunities to expand scope of work for Wood.Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.Minimum 15+ years relevant experience in major Brownfield oil & gas projects, including at least five (5) years in similar position.Specific experience in Oil and Gas projects across their lifecycle in the GCC region preferred.Pre-FEED, FEED experience required.Detailed Engineering experience preferred.What We Offer: Competitive salary with regular reviews.Commitment to continued professional development.Global connections: join experts around the world who are at the leading edge of our industry.Medical Insurance: ensures inpatient and outpatient medical care is available.Group Life and Personal Accident Insurance: company provides Life Assurance cover.The Employee Share Plan: gives opportunity to purchase Wood shares and receive a match from the company.Long Service Award: Wood values commitment and loyalty of people, celebrating Long Service at 5-year service milestones.About Us Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
