Teaching Assistant Role Summary We are seeking an exceptional Teaching Assistant to join our educational team. This role involves providing support to teachers in their daily activities and contributing to the overall learning environment.Job Description The successful candidate will be responsible for: Assisting teachers with reading-related activities, such as preparing materials and supporting students during lessons;Running small group activities inside or outside the classroom, as directed by the teacher;Maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment;Preparing and distributing teaching materials, such as worksheets and displays;Supporting teachers with administrative tasks, such as photocopying and filing documents;Taking children to the toilet and changing/cleaning them when necessary;Developing familiarity with relevant aspects of the curriculum, including literacy, numeracy, and phonetics;Ensuring that GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times;Required Skills and Qualifications To be considered for this role, you should possess: A good level of general education, particularly in Maths and English;Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English; ICT skills are desirable;Able to handle a range of tasks, work under pressure, and relate well to children and colleagues;Previous experience as a teaching assistant or working with children is preferred;Benefits This role offers: A competitive salary and benefits package;The opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive educational environment;Professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge;A collaborative and inclusive team culture;Note: Please refer to the full job description for additional information on requirements and responsibilities.Other Information Please note that this is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work a standard 35-hour week. The role will involve supervising small groups of children or whole classes of children in emergency situations, as well as performing other duties as requested by direct and dotted reporting line managers/supervisors.GEMS Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students and staff.
