Description
POSITION SUMMARYRespond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify, locate, and operate all shutoff valves for equipment and utility shutoffs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication protocols. Display basic knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance. Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and thorough cleanup of work areas. Test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment including plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs and manage inventory related to housekeeping and engineering. Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before maintenance. Perform repairs on landscaping and sprinklers. Demonstrate basic computer skills for inputting schedules and adjusting temperatures.Follow all company, safety, and security policies; report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials properly. Maintain a professional appearance, confidentiality, and protect company assets. Greet and acknowledge guests, anticipate their needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely. Adhere to quality standards. Foster positive working relationships, support team goals, and communicate professionally. Lift objects up to 50 pounds alone and heavier objects with assistance, navigate stairs, ramps, and ladders, and perform overhead and below-knee reaching, bending, twisting, and pulling. Use computers to access work-related information. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting. Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
