Marine Operations Director

A Marine Operations Manager oversees all aspects of marine operations, including vessel scheduling, port operations, and cargo handling.They ensure strict compliance with maritime laws, regulations, and industry standards.The role involves leading a team in responding to inbound service enquiries from shipowners/charterers, ensuring timely communication and service delivery.Responsibilities include managing vessel scheduling, ensuring efficient turnaround and smooth port operations.Liaising with port authorities, shipping companies, customs, and other key stakeholders is also crucial for seamless execution of ship agency tasks.Additional duties involve preparing and monitoring disbursement accounts (D/As) and operational reports for internal management.Candidates must have strong leadership and team management skills with a collaborative, hands-on approach.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for working across diverse nationalities and stakeholder groups.Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities are essential for success in this role.Multitasking, working under pressure, and handling high-priority operational issues are also key requirements.The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of marine operations and be proficient in marine operations software, MS Office, and reporting tools.Bachelor's degree in Marine Operations, Maritime Management, or a related field (Master's preferred) is required, along with minimum 10 years of experience in marine/shipping operations with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.In-depth knowledge of ship agency operations, customs clearance, and logistics procedures is also necessary.
