Coiled Tubing Drilling Field Operations Specialist
Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Coiled Tubing Drilling Field Engineer to support real-time data acquisition and directional control during coiled tubing drilling operations.Key Responsibilities Deploy and operate MWD tools integrated with Coiled Tubing Drilling BHAs, ensuring optimal data acquisition and directional guidance.Perform real-time data monitoring, gamma and directional logging, and toolface control to support directional driller execution.Validate and calibrate MWD sensors before deployment and verify tool readiness during pre-job checks.Monitor telemetry and downhole signal quality, troubleshoot tool failures, and ensure uninterrupted data flow to surface.Work closely with directional drillers, CTD supervisors, and surface systems to align on drilling parameters and adjustments.Generate accurate and timely field reports, including surveys, tool run records, and end-of-well documentation.Participate in rig-up/rig-down, system integration testing, and communication checks with surface units.Maintain strict adherence to company HSE policies and participate in safety briefings, audits, and incident reporting protocols.Provide on-site support to the client and ensure service quality meets or exceeds expectations.Requirements Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.Strong understanding of MWD tool physics, sensor placement, and telemetry systems (e.g., positive pulse, EM, or wired pipe).+7 years of MWD field experience, with at least 2 years in Coiled Tubing Drilling environments.Experience working with downhole logging tools compatible with CTD operations.Familiarity with directional drilling workflows and coordination with DD teams.Competence in using MWD software platforms for tool configuration, data download, and log generation.Experience in horizontal, deviated, or multilateral wellbores is an asset.Strong technical acumen in telemetry and directional measurements.Effective communicator in high-pressure, field-based environments.Commitment to service quality, equipment reliability, and HSE compliance.Flexible and adaptable to challenging rig site conditions and rotational schedules.
