Oil Market Experts Wanted - Senior Trader Position About the Role We are seeking an experienced and skilled trader to join our team as a Senior Trader. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing asset-backed trading strategies, negotiating and concluding market transactions, and liaising with charterers and operations teams.Responsibilities Trading: Developing and executing asset-backed trading strategies to maximize returns on investment.Negotiating and concluding market transactions on a spot and term basis within strategy, mandate, and risk policy.Liaising with charterers in shipping and operations to ensure safe and efficient physical movements.Developing and maintaining counterparty relationships to facilitate smooth trade execution.Tracking and communicating market developments, including supply and demand balances and competitor activities, to the team.Developing and presenting analysis to management to support trading decisions.Hedging Strategies Hedging: Developing hedging strategies for storage tanks, gasoline blending components, and gasoline aligned with risk policy.Executing and monitoring hedging activities to minimize potential losses.Monitoring market analysis, risk, geopolitical events, and market swings in oil and distillates markets.Entering transaction details into internal trading systems accurately and promptly.Blending Expertise Blending: Providing insights and support for developing long-term trading strategies for components and products.Requirements Advanced Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of the light distillate market and market players.Understanding of oil market fundamentals and analysis.Strong communication skills for stakeholder reporting and relationship management.Knowledge of derivative instruments for hedging.Experience with refining operations is beneficial.Proficiency with IT software and trading systems (e.g., CTRM, Bloomberg).Education and Experience Degree and Experience: Degree in Mathematics, Science, Finance, or Economics preferred.8-10+ years of front-line trading experience with proven P&L accountability.Experience trading light distillates like gasoline and LPG.Proven track record of delivery.Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and a risk appetite.Ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively with stakeholders.Additional Details Job Type: Full-time.Industry: Oil and Gas.Seniority Level: Associate.
