Steer AI's advanced AI-powered autonomy stack, developed by the Technology Innovation Institute, empowers the logistics and defense industries by turning industrial vehicles into autonomous powerhouses that can handle complex off-road missions, transforming operations and protecting organizations' most important assets: their workforce.Role Overview We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Backend Developer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both front-end and back-end development, with a passion for building scalable, high-performance applications. As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications, ensuring the seamless integration of user-facing elements with server-side logic.Responsibilities Design, Develop and maintain APIs and Sockets on our existing systems.Extend our existing backends with new scalable and secure features in the form of APIs and socket topics.Be able to effectively implement security measures into the backend.Ensure existing and new Backend features are all performing well and written in ahigh-quality manner.Identify any bug, security vulnerability or bottlenecks in the backend systems.Collaborate with our teams and engineers to implement new features.Write high quality code into the current systems while following the best practices.Maintain and improve communication with database as well as with other softwarecomponents via web sockets.Be able to extend our database architecture efficiently when needed Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for softwaredevelopment.Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure ourapplications remain cutting-edge.Requirements Experience as a Backend developer or a similar role for at least 2 years.Expertise in using Node.js, Nest Js, Express Js and Type Orms as well as Springboot(Java) or Django (Python) are a welcome experience.Experience in Database management system (Mongo Db, Redis Cach) Knowledge in relational databases like My SQL or Post Gre SQL will be appreciated.Familiarity with version control (Git).Expertise with Rest APIs and Web Sockets (Socket.IO)Experience with Web RTC is appreciated.Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.Medium Knowledge of Docker and docker compose is good.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and teamwork abilities.Experience with robot to web communication is a plus.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.What We Offer We offer a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and the opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the Autonomous Robotics industry.
