They are responsible tothe Senior Maintenance Manager for all aspects of the products and/or servicesthey deliver and for adherence to the maintenance programme. They areresponsible for the leadership, management and co-ordination of all areas andpeople under their control. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuringcompliance with all regulatory requirements.Areas of Responsibility: Performance indicators– Ensure the effective leadership of Part 145activities by setting delivery targets, monitoring progress and developingperformance improvement programmes. Responsible for: management reviews; theassessment of escalated issues for impact on Continuing Airworthiness andgenerating effective resolution, or sponsoring escalation to senior management,as appropriate.Completion of activities– Ensure all Part 145 activities are appropriatelydocumented and the appropriate airworthiness records are maintained on relevantsystems (IT / paper based). Ensure all Part 145 activities are performed bysuitably qualified, experienced and authorised personnel. Lead the integrationof Part 145 activity within the business and in particular the engagement ofkey stakeholders at all stages of the process.Procedure/standards– Lead Part 145’s compliancewith the Part 145 Exposition, its associated procedures and standards, and anyother company procedures and standards, as applicable. Drive and implementchange as required, whilst ensuring compliance.Safety Management System– Lead the application of Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management and Safety Assurance within Part 145, together withthe proactive analysis, mitigation and management of Hazards.Management System Assurance– Ensure all Part 145activities are compliant with the AM&S Governance and Assurance framework. Ensure Process Confirmations and independent assurance audits are supported by Part 145 personnel. Manage audit findings in a timely and appropriate mannerand provide information into the relevant reviews. Generate, deliver andimplement effective improvements to overcome any non-compliance and monitoreffectiveness.Statutory / Regulatory & Legislative requirements– Able to demonstrate a detailed understanding andapplication of the relevant Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework, andensure any Regulatory-driven changes are implemented. Lead Part 145’s compliance with all other requirements,e.g. ITAR, Ea PW, ISO, etc.Contractual Requirements– Lead compliance with all applicable contractualrequirements, e.g. through support to contract reviews, and ensurecommunication and implementation of any changes into Part 145 activities, asappropriate.Core Activity Ensuring that all tasked maintenance hasbeen properly carried out in accordance with the Statement of Work, using the AMC documentation set as defined within the current Maintenance Organisation Exposition using the latest approved technical information Responsible for scheduleadherence to the Maintenance plan and short to medium term Progress reporting against delivery targets to the Maintenance Manager. Apply analytical skills to the tacticalevaluation and resolution of operational problems Discharging the governance across theorganisation that is required to ensure compliance with the Maintenance Organisation’s Exposition and associated AMC’s. Assessand report on any non-compliances and the impact to the wider programme to Maintenance Manager Manage shift and resourceplans to ensure agreed delivery targets can be accomplished within therequirements of the regulatory framework by ensuring staff are sufficientlycompetent and approved for the maintenance tasks allocated to them within theshift plan Provides leadership to Team Leaders throughformal assessment processes, demonstrating sound and comprehensivecommunication and people management skills. Ensure that the team members’ taskauthorisations for working on an aircraft or components in accordance with AMCrequirements are current. Ensure thatcurrency and recency records are maintained, capturing experience and alltechnical training of maintenance personnel Understanding the impact theteam can have on the Service Safety Hazard Ensure that the organisationappropriately maintains its facilities, including Hanger, Workshop, Office and Storage areas Ensure that the Maintenance Manager is informed of any condition of an aircraftor aircraft component which could create a flight safety hazard Notification to the Safety and Compliance Manager of any changes required to the Exposition Key Accountabilities Performanceindicators– Ensure the effective management of regulatory activities bysetting delivery targets, monitoring progress and developing performanceimprovement programmes. Ensure suitablyqualified, experienced and authorised personnel perform all Part 145activities. Support the response to audit findings in atimely and appropriate manner and provide information to support the relevantreviews. Support the implementation of identified improvements to overcome anynon-compliance and monitor effectiveness Statutory/Regulatory& Legislative requirements– Able to demonstrate an appropriate level ofunderstanding and application of the relevant continuing airworthinessregulatory framework. Support the implementation of any regulatory drivenchanges into the maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with all otherrequirements, e.g. ITAR, Ea PW, ISOContractual Requirements– Comply with allapplicable contractual requirements Major Areas of Responsibility Specific to Capability: May hold a Letter of Delegation from the Head of Aircraft Maintenance detailing accountabilities and responsibilities for thedelivery of the Maintenance Service in accordance with the Maintenance Organisations Exposition, the associated procedures and the platforms approveddata set.Ensure that all tasked maintenance has beenproperly carried out in accordance with the Statement of Work, using the AMCdocumentation set as defined within the current Maintenance Organisation Exposition using the latest approved technical information.Will hold accountability for the servicedelivery to the Head of Aircraft Maintenance in accordance with the Maintenance Plan. Responsible for schedule adherence, to the Maintenance plan. Progressreporting against delivery targets to the Head of Aircraft Maintenance.Accountable for discharging the governanceacross the organisation that is required to ensure compliance with the Maintenance Organisations Exposition and associated AMC’s. Accountable to ensure that currency and recency records are maintained,capturing experience and all technical training of maintenance personnel.Managing the impact of the maintenance activityon the Service Safety Hazard.Accountable for the provision of appropriatefacilities, including Hanger, Workshop, Office and Storage areas.Responsible for ensuring that the Head of Aircraft Maintenanceis informed of any condition of an aircraft or aircraftcomponent which could create a flight safety hazard.Responsible for notifying the Part 145 Regulatory Approval Manager of any changes required to the Exposition.Responsible for carrying out Certifying and Support staff interviews to ensure staff are competent to hold authorities andif content signing off their applications.Functional Competence & Capability: Expert leader at thislevel.Requires broad and in-depth product knowledge and a comprehensiveunderstanding of the relationship with interfacing / contributory areas.Responsible for ensuring team compliance with the risk assessments and SHEpolicies and procedures.Requirements Qualifications: Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, including City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 (or equivalent).Ideally qualified in Aeronautical Engineering.Alternatively, possession of a recognised Engineering Degree in one of the following disciplines: Aeronautical Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronic Engineering Avionic Engineering Any other field relevant to aircraft maintenance and continuing airworthiness.Experience: 5 years practical experience and expertise inthe application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.2 years relevant work experience within theaircraft maintenance environment working at a supervisory level exercisingcertifying privileges.6 months experience on type (in the last twoyears).A comprehensive knowledge of Acceptable Means of Compliance documentation set.
