Driving Business Growth Location: Qatar, On Site Descon Engineering Qatar is looking for a seasoned Planning & Scheduling professional to support our upcoming shutdown project in Qatar. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project schedules, tracking daily progress, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and leading a group of planners. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and manage Level I–IV shutdown schedules using Primavera P6, covering pre-shutdown, execution and post-shutdown phases. - Define shutdown milestones and critical path activities in alignment with contract and client requirements. - Coordinate with Mechanical, Process, Electrical, Instrumentation and utilities teams to validate activity durations and sequencing. - Perform daily schedule updates, reschedule delayed tasks, and maintain a robust Project Monitoring System (PMS) with commodity-wise progress tracking supported by backups. - Generate progress S-curves and conduct daily/weekly earned value analysis in line with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). - Load and level craft-wise manpower and equipment; develop and track histograms reflecting planned vs. actual deployment. - Support Procurement by providing shutdown-critical material and equipment timelines, ensuring timely site availability. - Develop installation quantity curves for static and rotating equipment, piping and specialty polymer processing units. - Prepare and submit client-facing daily and weekly progress reports, along with internal schedule health and variance analysis. - Liaise with all technical teams to ensure timely data inputs and drive planning awareness across the site. - Prepare and maintain 2-week and 4-week lookahead schedules for field execution teams. - Lead and supervise the planning team, ensure standardized daily trackers and reporting mechanisms are in place. - Ensure visibility and control over shutdown windows, interface points, tie-ins and recommissioning schedules for polymer plant systems. Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering - Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas shutdowns - Proficient in Primavera P6 and MS Excel - Strong communication, analytical and reporting skills - Relevant experience in planning for shutdowns/turnarounds - Proven ability to lead and manage planning teams To Apply: Send your CV to "adil.iftikhar@descon.com" with the subject: "Lead Planning Engineer".
