Description
To support the Service Delivery Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Department in reviewing, updating, and managing the changes of O&M Employers Requirements, SDD technical documentation, and performance regimes, the Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality documentation that meets SDD needs. This includes collecting, organizing, and categorizing lessons learned from SDD and other stakeholders and translating complex technical information into clear, accurate, and comprehensive O&M Employers requirements and related SDD Documentation. The Technical Writer will guide the enhancement and optimization of O&M Employers requirements and SDD documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards, best practices, and the highest levels of performance and safety. Education: Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Membership in a relevant professional engineering association is desirable. Experience: 15+ years in the rail industry, focusing on metro and tram systems. Strong background in technical writing with excellent communication skills, preferably in the railways industry. Proven track record in preparing employers' requirements with operation and maintenance experience in the railways industry. Knowledge of maintenance, construction, and design for metro systems. In-depth knowledge of rail safety standards and industry regulations. Experience with rail-specific technologies, including rolling stock, signaling, and communication systems. Thorough understanding of rail systems basics such as driverless trains, signaling systems, traction power supply distribution, track, control and communication systems, tunnel ventilation systems, and E&M systems, including their functions and maintenance. Highly motivated and flexible to work in a time-sensitive environment, responding quickly and effectively to unanticipated high workloads. Ability to multi-task and analyze situations promptly and without bias to determine the proper course of action or alternatives without jeopardizing safety, quality, and committed performance targets. Thorough understanding of all aspects of safety issues related to railway operations.
