Overview The purpose of this job is to perform specialized duty functions in preparing for and responding to fire/medical emergency calls and in providing general support within the Fire Department and surrounding area. Duties include maintaining readiness for emergency response, responding to fire, medical, and emergency calls, and educating staff and the public on fire safety and prevention. Responsibilities This position description is subject to change as needed to meet program or company requirements. Participate as a positive team member and conform to the LOGCAP V contract Performance Work Statement. Maintain a safe workplace, prioritizing safety. Comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Quality Assurance (QA) requirements. Maintain documentation to meet these requirements. Ensure emergency equipment is operational and ready per NFPA or other standards. Maintain and clean personal protective equipment and assist in cleaning equipment and facilities. Conduct fire inspections, pre-incident planning, and ensure facility safety with proper documentation. Operate digital fire alarm and two-way radio equipment. Support fire department operations with property control, equipment accountability, maintenance scheduling, and administrative duties. Serve as a team member on rescue units, ladder trucks, engine companies, or water tenders. Enter hazardous structures and vehicles to fight fires or perform rescues while wearing protective gear. Participate in firefighting, rescue, medical emergencies, and hazardous materials responses as directed. Support organizational metrics and accurately track related data. Attend meetings and communicate professionally with team members and others. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may substitute for one year of education. Pass Department of State (Do S) vetting if required, and meet all security requirements. Pass Annual Firefighter Occupational Health Exam and SCBA Fit Testing per NFPA 1582 and 1583. Be available for recall. Hold Do D, IFSAC, or Pro-Board certifications at levels such as Fire Fighter II, Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations, Driver Operator - Pumper, First Aid Responder, CPR/AED. Experience: Minimum five (5) years' experience as a Fire Fighter, preferably on a Do D Installation. OCN Qualifications: Must have certifications at specified levels, be able to read, write, and speak English, and be supervised by Fire Captains, Assistant Fire Chief, or Fire Chief.
