Trainer - Port Operations

QTerminals is looking for a dynamic Trainerfor port operations to lead and deliver safe technical and performance-based trainings for our operations team. This role is vital in ensuring our workforce remains skilled, safe, and globally competitive. Responsibilities: Develop and deliver training programs for port operational roles including all port operations staff. Deliver classroom, simulator-based, and on-the-job training sessions as required . Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance audits. Ensure all operational training meets QHSSE, Operations SOPs, and port authority regulations. Maintain detailed records of training plans, attendance, assessments, and certification statuses. Support onboarding of new operational staff with structured orientation and skill-building programs. Conduct the operations training classes required for build-up multi-skilled operations staff Deliver hands-on and classroom-based training for key port operations roles (e.g. labors, charge-hands, supervisors and all other related operations jobs). Design and update training materials, contents, manuals, and SOPs aligned with the international port standards. Conduct skill assessments and track individual progress through structured evaluations. Support and conduct the required mandatory operations training sessions to new hires of operations department Maintain and escalate up the required up-to-date training reports records, certifications, and performance reports. Follow up the running operational trainings and report the end of training results as required. Run the pre-assessment for the new nominated equipment operators using the equipment simulator and standard theoretical assessment Required Qualification and Skills: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Maritime, Logistics, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 7 years in port operations, with at least 3 years in operational training. Certifications: Train the trainer is a must while Preferred – Crane/EQUIPMENT operation certifications, safety instruction credentials. Technical: Understanding of container and general cargo handling, port machinery, and TOS platforms (e.g. Navis N4). Languages: Fluent in English and Hindi (Arabic is a strong plus). Soft Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and coaching skills; organized and proactive. Computer Skills: Strong in Power Point, Outlook and Excel.
