Full time Talent Pool Mechanical Junior Supervisor Business Area Name: Typhoon Job Type: Full time City: Dukhan Province: Ad Dawhah Country: Qatar Job Description The postholder will be an experienced and skilled mechanical technician and supervisor undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities on the Typhoon aircraft or aircraft components. The post holder requires an excellent understanding of the approved technical data set and is competent to supervise personnel carrying out maintenance instructions in accordance with the organisation’s regulatory framework. Demonstrates a distinct ability to analyze and diagnose faults in aircraft systems, equipment, and assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures, and work effectively within a team. Provide guidance to less experienced team members in a diverse and dynamic operational environment. Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection, and supervision activities on the Typhoon and its components. Ensuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with the work package using the relevant approved technical information. Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including configuration management. Undertaking and completing tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on the Typhoon aircraft or components, which may include aircraft ground handling, flight servicing, aircraft role changes, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements, and/or functional/system tests. Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to responsibilities and take direction appropriately. Maintain personal task authorizations for working on aircraft or components. Ensure that maintenance is undertaken to schedule and resolve any issues, escalating as required. Undertake fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for 'found faults' during maintenance. Supervise the team to ensure maintenance is undertaken to schedule, highlight issues, and escalate as required, reporting any impact to the wider program. Ensure staff are sufficiently competent and approved for the maintenance tasks allocated to them. Undertaking support tasks within the aircraft or component maintenance facility to maintain compliance with the MOE and Functionally Mandated Procedures (FMPs), such as oversight checks and control of tooling/test equipment. Provide guidance and leadership to the team. Develop team members using formal assessment processes (e.g., PDRs), support and sponsor training requests, including 'on the job training'. Demonstrate sound communication and people management skills to exchange complex information. Ability to scope and carry out independent and vital inspections. Maintain a personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency after completing On the Job Training (OJT) activities, and sign other personnel’s logbooks as appropriate within your trade and skills boundaries. If approved as a designated assessor, undertake authorization and task competency approvals, and review Pt 145 license application packs prior to submission. Requirements Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent qualifications. Academic qualification of at least City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance, or equivalent. Aircraft platform training (on aircraft requirement). Requires broad and in-depth product knowledge/competency within own technical/subject area. Awareness of how the team integrates with others to achieve overall objectives and understanding of continuous improvement principles. Experienced and competent leader at this level. Requires a minimum of 2 years working as a Technician prior to undertaking a Supervisor role. Demonstrating breadth of experience, currency, and recency via a Log Book capturing skills, knowledge, and authorities for working on the aircraft type or in bays. Practical experience and expertise in aviation safety standards and safe operating practices. Knowledge of Expositions and Functionally Mandated Procedures Management training. PDR training/experience. Ensure personal compliance with risk assessments, SHE policies, and procedures.
