Safety Officer Job Vacancy in Qatar. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies in line with Qatar Construction Standards (QCS) and Qatar Civil Defence Department (QCDD) regulations. Conduct detailed risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSA), and site inspections to identify and address potential hazards. Design and deliver comprehensive safety training, including toolbox talks, fire safety drills, and emergency response training. Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, preparing root cause analysis reports and implementing preventive measures. Ensure proper use, maintenance, and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE) across all sites. Maintain accurate records of safety audits, training sessions, and incident reports for regulatory compliance and internal reviews. Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety protocols into daily operations and project planning. Advise on environmental safety practices, including waste management and hazardous material handling. Ensure compliance with international standards such as ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety). Participate in safety committee meetings and provide recommendations to improve safety performance. Qualifications and Requirements A diploma or bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline is required. Mandatory certifications: NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC), IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent. Additional certifications like OSHA or First Aid/CPR are highly desirable. The candidate should have a minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a safety officer in the construction, oil and gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors. Extensive knowledge of Qatari safety regulations, international HSE standards, and best practices. Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to deliver training and liaise with diverse teams. Fluency in English is required, with Arabic proficiency being an advantage. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) for report preparation and presentations. A valid Qatar ID (QID) with a transferable visa and No Objection Certificate (NOC) is preferred but not mandatory. The individual must possess the physical fitness to conduct site inspections in varying conditions, such as outdoor construction sites and high temperatures. Availability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, and ability to start immediately.
