Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Create Alert Quality Control Materials Inspector (QFAB)Job Requisition No.: 21939 Category: Shipyard Position : Quality Control Materials Inspector Reports To: Senior Quality Inspector Company : Qatar Fabrication Company Location: Ras Laffan / Qatar Primary Functions: Determine conformity of material received to customer specification and relevant code/standard through independent inspection and tests in accordance with the Project Quality Plan (PQP). Identify nonconformity for Tasks and Responsibilities: Assure material received in accordance with the PO, ITP, and Technical Specification, Codes / Material standards to determine conformity. All inspection results need to be documented on warehouse checklist and if nonconformity exists, suitable documentation (OS&D, NCR) shall be issued to establish corrective and preventive action. Perform receiving inspections such as visual, dimensional, verification of markings, review of Material Test Certificates / Inspection Release Notes in accordance with project specifications, codes / material standard and scope of work as noted in the PO and ITPs. Provide interpretation of applicable code/material standards and customer requirements. Any deviation, clarification and waivers deemed necessary shall be notified to the Senior Quality Inspector - Materials for generating change management process such as Site Query, Technical Query, Technical deviation, waivers etc., Identify any additional testing requirement and arrange/coordinate with approved testing laboratories for testing with PMT approval. Participate in witnessing the lab testing as and when required. Coordinate / Interface with Warehouse, Purchasing, PMT, Operations, Certifying Authority, Client, and subcontractor assuring conformity to project specifications. Liaise with customer representatives ensuring product conformity and stage release for each activity denoted in the PO/ITP. Liaise with PMT/Buyers and Expeditors for quick resolution of OS&D. Attend OS&D meetings for the assigned project. Attend Joint Equipment Inspection as per project requirements. Visit vendor premises and conduct vendor inspections as and when required, as per PO/ITP. Exercise proactive approach in prevention of a technical problem by interaction with Purchasing, Engineers, and Management personnel. Conduct routine internal audits to assess the effectiveness of quality system outlined in the PQP/ITP. Participate in Toolbox Talks conducted in Warehouse to highlight the quality requirements and non- conformances noted during inspection. Conduct Quality Walkthroughs to ensure proper material storage and preservation. Notify all quality related concerns to the Senior Quality Inspector - Materials on regular basis. Liaise with Buyers to ensure Mill authenticity of materials received from Stockiest. Carry out advance MTC review (Supplier Materials Details) of stockiest materials to avoid OS&Ds after material receiving. Qualifications, Experience and Skills Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Metallurgical/ Electrical & Instrumentation Experience: 5+ years Quality control or related experience in Weld, Material, E&I Inspection.#J-18808-Ljbffr
