Description
The Plumber is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, operation, and repair of water supply and wastewater systems at a U.S. military installation in Doha, Qatar. This role supports warm base operations and exercises by installing, modifying, and fabricating high- and low-pressure piping systems, fixtures, valves, and thermostatically controlled components. Responsible for the inspection, operation, maintenance and repair of water supply and wastewater collection systems and related components such as hot water heaters and plumbing fixtures in accordance with the performance work statement to support warm base operations and exercises. This is a 100% overseas assignment with the expectation to operate in various environments, including potentially austere or wartime conditions, and may involve shift work, overtime, and exposure to challenging elements. Employment Type : Full Time – Hourly - Contract U.S. Government Secret Clearance Required. Key Responsibilities : Install, modify, fabricate, and repair new and existing high- and low-temperature water systems, high- and low-pressure piping systems, and related mechanical equipment. Interpret and work from building plans, blueprints, and technical sketches to plan, lay out, and execute the installation of complex piping systems and plumbing fixtures. Conduct pressure testing and operational checks to ensure all systems and equipment function properly and are free of leaks or mechanical defects. Accurately plan and install system routing, placement, pitch, incline, and elevation in accordance with engineering specifications and functional requirements. Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment with minimal supervision or instruction. Troubleshoot and repair thermostatically controlled piping, water lines, valves, water mixing valves, and associated components across multiple systems. Comply with all applicable technical orders and commercial best practices for maintenance actions, including the requisitioning, receiving, installation, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of parts and systems. Prepare and submit clear, detailed written reports following inspections, maintenance, repairs, testing, and system certifications to ensure accountability and traceability. Adhere to a comprehensive safety and quality assurance program in compliance with Company, OSHA, and United States Air Force (USAF) standards and procedures. Participate in and complete all required training programs to ensure technical competency, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness. Maintain a professional, safe, clean, and orderly work environment by ensuring all areas are free of debris, contaminants, and non-essential materials. Properly utilize, maintain, and safeguard all government- and contractor-furnished tools, equipment, and facilities assigned to support daily operations. Accurately complete all timekeeping and reporting requirements in alignment with company policy and project performance standards. Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the mission and operational needs. Qualifications : 5 years of experience in the operations, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems. Must have a ASSE 13010 Certification Hands-on experience with testing plumbing systems for leaks, proper pressure, pitch, incline, and elevation. Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current, valid U. S. Passport. Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment. Must accept that position is full time and 100% overseas assignment High School Diploma required. Must have an excellent understanding of all safety directives and polices regarding the operation of equipment. Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and able to drive with a manual transmission. Must be able to communicate in English. Must be able to pass a flight line access test and obtain flight line access badge. Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc. Candidates must successfully complete both online and hands on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training. Training includes the successful fit testing of Do D provided protective gear. Other Requirements : Work will be primarily indoors, but may be outdoors to support various company needs Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, and chemicals is likely to occur Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs.
