Overview This position is physically located in Qatar in support of LOGCAP. Under the general direction of the Fire Chief, the incumbent is responsible for implementing LOGCAP V Fire Protection plans and ensuring emergency response operations are conducted within established guidelines. Reports directly to the Assistant Fire Chief of Operations. The role involves directing firefighters during firefighting, rescue, hazardous materials incidents, and other emergencies.Responsibilities This position description is subject to change as needed to meet program or company requirements.Implement fire protection programs in accordance with the Performance Work Statement.Maintain a safe workplace, prioritizing safety above all.Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Quality Assurance (QA) standards.Provide necessary documentation to relevant divisions for legal and operational purposes.Train subordinate employees on EHS and QA requirements.Conduct fire inspections, ensuring facility safety and proper documentation.Operate digital fire alarm systems and communication equipment.Support logistical operations, including equipment accountability and scheduling maintenance.Ensure emergency equipment is operational and ready, following NFPA or industry standards.Respond to emergencies, disasters, and HAZMAT spills per departmental procedures.Lead rescue units, ladder trucks, engines, water tenders, or crash apparatus as team leader.Perform firefighting and rescue operations in hazardous environments while wearing protective gear.Supervise firefighting crews during various emergency responses.Maintain and clean personal protective equipment and supervise crew equipment maintenance.Support organizational metrics, training, and performance documentation.Track data related to metrics accurately and honestly.Contribute to achieving KBOSSS and LOGCAP metrics, providing support as needed.Attend meetings and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.Work towards LOGCAP goals and PWS compliance.Qualifications Minimum Education/Certifications: High School diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree in Fire Science preferred.Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain host nation Driver’s License and Heavy Driver’s License.Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Hazmat Operations, Hazmat Incident Commander, and Driver Operator - Pumper certifications as per DOD 6055.06-M.Preferred Certifications: Airport Firefighter, Haz Mat Technician, EMR, EMT, Driver Operator - ARFF.Experience: At least 5 years in an organized Fire or Emergency Service Department.Program Specific Requirements: Extensive firefighting and emergency service experience (5 years).Ability to supervise a diverse, multinational workforce.Knowledge of safety and environmental issues.Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).Working Environment: Exposure to physical hazards, noise, high temperatures, and the need for physical exertion.Ability to operate various machinery and tools, and to meet medical certification standards per NFPA 1582.V2X is committed to equal employment opportunity and fostering an inclusive, diverse workplace.
