Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and negotiate favorable terms to optimize cost-efficiency. Implement and maintain a robust system for tracking food and beverage supplies, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. Prepare and organize purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in quantity, quality, and specifications to meet restaurant needs. Monitor product expiration dates and rotate stock to minimize waste and ensure freshness in all culinary offerings. Assist in training kitchen staff on proper storage techniques and inventory management practices to uphold operational excellence. Conduct regular audits of inventory and supplier compliance, reporting any discrepancies or issues to management promptly. Ensure a clean and organized storeroom environment, adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain hygiene. Collaborate with the culinary team to forecast inventory needs based on seasonal menu changes and special events. Utilize inventory management software to streamline processes, generate reports, and enhance overall efficiency in storage operations. Desired Candidate Profile High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality management or supply chain is preferred for better understanding of the industry. Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control or storekeeping in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment. Certification in food safety and handling is essential to ensure compliance with health regulations. Familiarity with inventory management software and point-of-sale systems to manage stock levels effectively. Strong analytical skills to assess inventory needs and manage stock levels based on restaurant operations. Excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers, kitchen staff, and management effectively. Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities to maintain accurate records and a tidy storeroom. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods. Proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of additional languages is a plus to enhance communication with diverse suppliers. A proactive attitude with a strong commitment to teamwork and a passion for delivering excellent service in a culinary setting.
