Power Supply & Distribution Technician
Description
Perform all levels of preventive and corrective maintenance activities and minor modifications on power supply system covering H.V. traction power supplies, sub-stations, M.V panels, Uninterrupted Power Supplies, battery chargers and any other parts within the power supply system - Maintain power supply and sub-station assets - Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment, replace faulty equipment and handover/taken back to the electrical workshop for repair - Conduct periodical electrical testing, stress testing, check motor-control devices, switch panels, transformers, circuit breakers and gas insulated switches, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components and recommend or initiate modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards - Perform and carry out duties as instructed/directed by the Power Supply and Distribution Engineer - Maintain test equipment calibration and associated records - Diploma in Electrical Engineering with experience in high voltage power system and its related equipment or Industrial Training Institution (I.T.I) certification or Vocational trade certificate in electrical engineering discipline or equivalent - High voltage electrical tradesman license would be an added advantage for this position **Experience**: - Rail or power utilities industry: 3 years (required) - DC traction, transmission and distribution: 3 years (required) - SCADA control and configuring: 3 years (required)
