They are responsible for operating plants to excavate and move earth, rock, vegetation, and debris and then smooth and compact surfaces on construction sites, civil construction projects, and infrastructure projects. Many excavator operators have multiple tickets and experience that allows them to hop into different machines if required such as Graders, Bulldozers, Loaders, Rollers, etc. There are about a dozen or so brands of excavator machines such as CAT, Volvo, John Deere, Caterpillar, Komatsu, JCB, Doosan & Hitachi. Excavators also vary in size from small 1tonne machines up to larger 50-tonne machines and each size will require a ticket/license to operate. **Job Titles** - Earthmoving Plant Operator (General) - Backhoe Operator - Excavator Operator **Duties & Tasks** - Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. - Preparing and positioning plant for operation on site. - Operate the machine and other heavy equipment ina safe and appropriate manner. - Selecting, fitting, and removing attachments such as buckets, scoops, shovel blades, rock breaking hammers, winches, and blades. - Work with ground personnel. - Operating controls to excavate, break, drill, level, compact, gouge out, move, load, and spread the earth, rock, rubble, soil, and other materials. - Working from drawings, markers, and verbal instructions. - Servicing, lubricating, cleaning and refueling plant and performing minor adjustments and repairs. Skills Required - Typically, 3 to 5 years experience within the construction industry. - 2 to 3 years experience operating an Excavator. - Excavator Ticket - White Card - Full Drivers License - Heavy Rigid License (beneficial if you want to hop into a vehicle on-site with 3 or more axles). - Knowledge of Excavator and other heavy equipment. - Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes if working on road construction - Knowledge of residential construction processes if working on residential sites - Strong Communication skills - Excellent hand, eye, and foot coordination - Attention to detail **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Contract Contract length: 50 months Application Question(s): - Are you in Qatar? - How much is your current salary in the full package? - Nationality - QATAR ID Number - Date of Birth & Age **Education**: - High school or equivalent (preferred) **Experience**: - EXCAVATOR OPERATOR in Qatar: 3 years (preferred) - Roads Construction project in Qatar: 3 years (preferred) License/Certification: - Qatar Driving License (preferred) - Third Party Certificate (preferred)
