Strategic Hiring & People Enablement Main Purpose: The Bioinformatician will play a key role in supporting Lifera Omics' precision medicine initiatives by applying computational and statistical methods to analyze large-scale genomic and molecular datasets. The role focuses on developing robust bioinformatics pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, and collaborating with laboratory and research teams to translate complex data into actionable insights that advance both research and diagnostics. Area of Responsibility: Design, implement, and maintain bioinformatics pipelines for next-generation sequencing (NGS) and other omics data types. Perform data analysis including quality control, alignment, variant calling, annotation, and interpretation. Develop scripts and tools to automate data processing and improve workflow efficiency. Collaborate with laboratory scientists, geneticists, and clinicians to integrate bioinformatics results into research and clinical applications. Maintain accurate documentation of analytical methods, results, and reports. Manage and organize large-scale genomic datasets while ensuring compliance with data security and privacy standards. Evaluate and implement new bioinformatics tools, algorithms, and best practices. Contribute to publications, internal reports, and presentations of findings. Educational Qualification: Master's degree in bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Ph D is an advantage. Work Experience: 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in bioinformatics or computational genomics. Proven experience with NGS analysis tools (e.g., BWA, GATK, SAMtools, VEP). Proficiency in Python, R, or Bash for data analysis and automation. Familiarity with genomic databases such as Ensembl, Clin Var, and db SNP. Experience in clinical genomics or translational research environments is preferred. Skills, Methodologies: Proficient in NGS data analysis (alignment, variant calling, annotation). Skilled in Python, R, and Bash scripting. Experienced with tools like BWA, GATK, and SAMtools. Familiar with databases such as Ensembl, Clin Var, and gnom AD. Strong background in clinical genomics and precision medicine applications.
