Specialist - RADIOLOGIST

To examine and diagnose disorders, treat injuries and diseases using medical imaging (radiology) procedures (exams/tests) such as X-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography (PET), and ultrasound.Job Responsibilities Obtain patients' histories from electronic records, patient interviews, dictated reports, and by communicating with referring clinicians. Prepare comprehensive interpretive reports of findings.Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging procedures including MRI, CT, PET, nuclear cardiology treadmill studies, mammography, and ultrasound.Review and transmit images and information using picture archiving and communication systems.Communicate examination results and diagnostic information to referring physicians, patients, and families.Evaluate medical information to determine patients' risk factors (such as allergies to contrast agents) and decide on the appropriateness of procedures.Provide counseling to radiologic patients to explain processes, risks, benefits, and alternative treatments.Consult with medical professionals regarding image-based diagnoses.Coordinate radiological services with other medical activities.Document performance, interpretation, and outcomes of procedures performed.Establish and enforce standards for patient and staff protection.Develop and monitor procedures to ensure quality control of images.Administer radiopaque substances by injection, orally, and as enemas to visualize internal structures on X-ray films and fluoroscopic screens.Recognize and manage complications during and after procedures, including blood pressure issues, pain, over-sedation, and bleeding.Treat malignant growths using radiation from radiographs, high-energy sources, and radioisotopes.Participate in quality improvement activities, including discussions on error risks.Job Knowledge & Skills Thorough understanding of medical terminology and treatment plans.Excellent patient care skills.Superior critical thinking skills and the ability to interpret complex data.Good time-management skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.ERP knowledge, preferably SAP; functional skills are required for success in this role.Job Experience Minimum 5 years of experience.Education Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
