IT Project Manager Specialist Business Applications (Oil & Gas)

Role Overview Lead and deliver high-impact IT projects within the Business Applications portfolio. Manage the full project lifecycle—from requirement gathering and design to implementation and closeout—ensuring timely, on-budget, and quality-focused execution of both in-house and vendor-driven solutions.Key Responsibilities Project Management & Delivery Manage multiple IT projects concurrently under PMO governance.Define scope, develop project plans, set milestones, and track progress.Ensure delivery of solutions with high quality, on time, and within budget.Conduct project reviews, status reporting, and phase gate documentation.Business Analysis & Requirements Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document detailed requirements.Facilitate workshops, define scope, and translate requirements into functional and technical designs.Support UI wireframes, process flows, business rules, and architecture documentation.Budget & Financial Oversight Develop project budgets and forecasts; monitor and control expenditures.Address variances and ensure accurate financial reporting and project closeout.Stakeholder & Vendor Management Liaise with internal stakeholders for alignment on decisions and deliverables.Manage external vendors: RFPs, bid evaluations, contract compliance, and performance tracking.Risk & Issue Management Identify project risks, implement mitigation plans, and track resolution of issues.Ensure compliance with information security controls and audit readiness.Governance & Documentation Maintain project documentation as per PMO standards.Update project status and artifacts on the enterprise project portfolio platform.Leadership & Collaboration Provide project leadership and task coordination across internal teams and vendors.Mentor team members, support knowledge transfer, and promote best practices.Support strategic programs, digital transformation, and cross-functional optimization initiatives.Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Postgraduate qualification (MBA, MSc) is a plus.Experience: 10+ years in IT, including 7+ years in Project Management roles; at least two full-cycle projects over USD 500K.Certifications: PMP or equivalent required. Agile, Business Analysis, or Six Sigma certifications are desirable.Tools & Knowledge: Strong command of MS Project, EPM tools, and IT infrastructure/applications.
